The Nutrients of Sea Moss

Our sea moss comes from St. Lucia and is grown in the ocean. As it is an algae, sea moss contains 92 out of the 102 minerals that our bodies need to operate at its peak. Minerals such as iodine, calcium, potassium, sulfur and magnesium and many more can be found in sea moss. In addition, sea moss is rich in vitamins A, B- Complex, C, E, and K and is also full of antioxidants, omega 3 fatty acids as well as amino acids.

Not only can it assist with weight loss, due to it being low in calores and high in nutrients, but its fiber helps you feel full longer. It is also great for boosting the immunity, a natural decongestant, and may also improve gut health as it contains prebiotic fibers, along with boosting your mental health. Since it is also rich in iodine, it can help maintain a healthy thyroid.

The high levels of potassium helps in relieving your body from agitation of anxiety disorders, depression, fibromyalgia and moodiness.

It improves your sex life, improves your skin, hair, and nails. It supports a healthy respiratory function by effectively treating  respiratory diseases such as:

  • colds
  • bronchial infections
  • cough
  • tuberculosis
  • flu
  • pneumonia
  • sore throat

Sea Moss is rich in potassium and helps in eliminating excess phlegm as well.

Sea Moss comes in various forms, such as gel, powder, capsules and even raw. Though all of these forms are readily available, the most commonly used is the gel form. Sea Moss gel is tasteless and may be added to your daily lifestyle by including it in your coffee, tea, oatmeal, soup, smoothies, pre-natal care, skin and hair care.  The gel acts as a thickening agent and is great for soups, puddings and other recipes. The list is endless.

When using Sea Moss, make sure you store it in an airtight container. While refrigerated your Sea Moss can last up to 1 month, it may also be stored in the freezer for up to 3 months.
